Lab Test Information

What Tests Am I Buying?

-Iron & TIBC
-Ferritin

-VitaminB-12

Why Do I Need These?

Vitamin B-12
Measures B12 levels in the body. Low levels of B-12 can inhibit the body's ability to produce red blood cells known as Pernicious Anemia. Other symptoms of anemia via B-12 deficiency include a tingling, "pins and needles" sensation in the hands or feet, clumsiness, and difficulty walking.

Ferritin, Iron & TIBC
Test for levels of iron in the blood. Low iron levels can result in anemia. Classic symptoms include cravings for ice, headaches, dizziness, fatigue, or pale skin.

Is Fasting Required?

An 8-12 hour fast is recommended prior to your test. An ideal time to have your blood drawn is in the morning.

When Will My Results Be Ready?

Results are typically ready in 7-10 business days or less.
